May Newsletter
Dear Readers,

May is here, a crazy mix of hot sun and fast-falling showers and angry thunderstorms. The land is so full of life, of growth and colour, that I feel Michel and I should move out and leave the pollinators, the blossoms and nesting birds to it! We have every kind of fruit from winter on the trees: grapefruits, blood oranges, lemons and lemons and lemons. Our mayor has recently taken an entire crate of lemons from us and is busily at work making bottles of Limoncello for us all to enjoy chilled throughout the summer months.
Over these last few weeks, here at the Olive Farm, we have celebrated Easter and I have stepped up to another birthday, all the while working towards 3rd July, for the publication of ONE SUMMER IN PROVENCE. It is approaching fast. I will be in the UK over the next few weeks and twice in Ireland for various festivals, recordings and book events. Keep an eye on the Events page here on this website and you will know where and when to find me.
In the meantime, the Cannes Film Festival is about to kick off. I am preparing a few meetings with various film producers while keeping my sights very firmly set on ONE SUMMER IN PROVENCE.

Here is a pic of me in the garden, wearing my invisible judge’s hat while at work reading fifty Irish novels for the Kerry Irish Novel of the Year Award.
If you are anywhere near Listowel in Kerry, Ireland on 28th and 29th May, you will find me there. I will be talking about ONE SUMMER IN PROVENCE at 5pm on 29th May.
If you would like to preorder ONE SUMMER IN PROVENCE, please, please do. It makes a huge difference to us authors and to bookshops too. Here are a couple of links: Amazon, Waterstones, Bookshop.org (supporting independent bookshops). If you are outside the UK and would like to pre-order the book – thank you! Blackwells, an excellent UK bookshop, ship worldwide for FREE.
Lots of links! I hope they help.
Here are some of the comments from some of my lovely author colleagues who have already read and loved ONE SUMMER IN PROVENCE.

Tomorrow is a public holiday in France, 8th May, Victory Day. Many people will be making a long weekend of it. Michel and I will be at our desks and then working on the land. Mostly what I wish for these days, especially with the news coming in from all over the world, is Peace on Earth.
Be well, keep reading, stay in touch with me, please. I get such a kick out of hearing from you.
Love,
Carol

PS: Our late gardener Quashia planted all our artichokes. We leave them to flower now for the bees.
